electricity from the sun
Solar photovoltaic (PV)–or solar electric–panels let you harvest the sunlight on your rooftop and convert it to electricity to run appliances, lights, even heating systems in your home and business.
Solargreen installs Solyndra PV modules for flat residential and business roof tops. The Solyndra system is lightweight and allows modules to be spaced apart within the panels so that wind can blow through them, thus eliminating the need for expensive mounting hardware and ballast typically required to secure conventional panels against uplift from the wind. The horizontal mounting and unique "air-flow" properties of Solyndra's solar panel design substantially simplify the installation process for Solyndra's PV systems. The ease of installation and simpler mounting hardware of the Solyndra system enables its customers to significantly reduce labor, hardware, design and other balance of systems costs, which account for a substantial portion of the total installed cost of a conventional PV system.
Using proprietary cylindrical CIGS modules and thin-film technology, Solyndra systems are designed to provide the lowest cost of electricity on commercial rooftops by delivering the lowest total systems costs per watt and the highest kilowatt hour production per rooftop for typical installations.

As you can see from the photos above, one of the biggest advantage of using cylindrical solar collectors is the amount of collectors that can fit in the same space as traditional arrays. This can be especially important in residential applications when there is a real limit in the amount of roof space to begin with.
TRADITIONAL SOLAR POWER
Solargreen also installs traditional crystalline solar panels on homes in Colorado.
When the sun isn’t visible, your home uses traditional energy sources (i.e., the electric company). On sunny days, the panels may produce more electricity than you need. Your surplus energy is then channeled to the local power grid. If you generate more power than you use in a year, the electric company pays you for your surplus thanks to a program known as “net metering.”
